Tuesday working party: the ‘Golden Oldies’

Each Tuesday morning throughout the year at around 9:30-ish the volunteers of the
SRFC Tuesday working party gather at the club.

There is a core of 5 or so members who appear every week and others who drop in and help whenever they can. Over the years membership had ebbed and flowed but inevitably the ravages of old age have caught up with some of us - as it has with the clubhouse which is now showing its age.  If you have an occasional Tuesday morning free, then why not come and join us?  No special skills are required but the ability to hold a broom, screwdriver, paint brush or drill is appreciated and should be within the grasp of most!  To tempt you, there is a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit or (if we’re lucky) cake on offer, together with an opportunity to ‘put the world to rights’ whilst the drink is consumed!

Please contact Barry Simpson or Andy Hutchison if you can spare a few hours to
help or would like more information.

We meet, ostensibly, to do a bit of planned light cleaning, tidying and clubhouse maintenance.  What we actually do depends largely on what happened at the
weekend.  Often, this involves an exclamation to the effect “what the **** has happened now….” and could involve anything from replacing a toilet cistern that’s
been pulled off the wall (in the ladies!), to replacing a light bulb, and many things in between.  More often than not, it’s a result of someone just not thinking (or caring)
what they’ve done, so we do encourage everyone to treat the facility with the respect it deserves!  Here are a few small requests that will help us to help you:

 Players – please remember your underpants, boots and socks after the match (how anyone can forget their undies is a mystery!) Please also bring your
used tape, drinks bottles and other rubbish in from the pitch and bin them.
 Everyone – please put your rubbish in the bins provided
 If it doesn’t move, don’t force it!
 Please leave our facilities as you would wish to find them!
