Southend are delighted to confirm the signing of Kalani Parkinson ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

 

Parkinson, who currently plays in New Zealand will link up with the senior squad later this summer ahead of the league season. The back rower comes from a heavy Rugby back ground, his father, Reuben Parkinson made Super Rugby appearances for both the Highlanders and Hurricanes. 

 

On making the move to Southend, Parkinson said ““I’m grateful for the opportunity. I’m looking forward to a new journey and ripping in with the lads”. Director of Rugby, Josh Ward was equally excited to see Parkinson involved saying “Kalani is highly regarded by a number of people. Having spoken with Macca, it was a great opportunity for us to work with him and add significant quality to our current squad. We look forward to welcoming him and his partner Hannah to Southend”.
